My cousin just bought a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta, and he wants to replace the factory stereo with an Alpine deck. The problem is that there is a factory amplifier under the rear deck and I don't know if I have to bypass it to make the aftermarket deck work.

Do they make an amplifier bypass cable for this car? Would I have to change the speakers, or will they work with the Alpine deck?

Thanks

Don't worry about bypassing it unless you are having speakers not working with the factory unit. Or want to go big with replacing speakers/amps.

You should be fine just use the Volkswagen 70-1784 Metra harness or the VW Scosche harness. Just have to be careful with the volume.
