OK I'm trying to firgure out what size amp would best suit the system I'm trying to get together. I'm planning on using 4 JL Audio 8W0's in my Corvette since they're small and I know they hit pretty hard. They come in either 4 ohm or 8 ohm so I've figured I can either:
A) wire the 4 ohms in two sets in parellel to achieve two 2 ohm loads and use a two channel amp
B) wire all four 8 ohms in parellel to achieve a 2 ohm load on a mono amp.
My question is How do I figure out how much wattage is getting to each sub at a two ohm load? For either option. I've found calculators but its set up for 2 subs wired in parellel and I think I want to go with option B and just wire all four 8 ohms in parellel so that its easier and mono amps are easier to come by.
Anyone that can help me figure how much wattage each sub will get? I'm looking to feed each sub 125 watts since that is about they're (safe) limit
Thanks -Chris
How much power will the amp produce? Divide by 4 and this will give you the max each sub could utilize.

So even though they started as 8 ohm and are wired in parellel the wattage will be divided evenly by four? I was hoping it was that simple but didnt figure it would be.
Sooo, four 8 ohm subs wired in parallel, 2 ohm load, an amp rated at 500watts rms at 2 ohms will run 125rms to each sub correct??
Correct, although it won't "run at;" 125 watts, it will have 125 watts available for each subwoofer.
