Hi,

I am a stereo novice so any help one can provide would be great. I have an 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser and am looking to upgrade the audio system. I have a Pioneer DEH-P2900MP head unit. After some research, I am thinking of installing the components listed below. Someone on another forum pointed me to this forum and mentioned that I could get some good advice on this setup and if I should make any changes plus possible good deals from the For Sale section. So, please advice/sell away. Thank you.

Front Speakers:
Alpine Type-R SPR-13S (4 ohm)
8-100 watts RMS (300 watts peak power)

Front Amp:
Alpine MRP-F600
100 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms

Subwoofer:
Kicker CompVT 07CVT102 (2 ohm)
50-400 watts RMS (800 watts peak power)

Sub Amp:
Kicker 08ZX400.1
400 watts x 1 at 2 ohms

Go with a full size sub if at all possible.  You will be much happier.  If you want to stay kicker, the cvr is in the same price and power range.

Other than that everything else is fine.  You should be happy with that set up.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was getting the smaller one so it would fit in an FJ Amp Box I found but as long as it can fit in a 9 1/8 opening and is not larger or close to 5 1/2, it should work and your suggestion does seem to fit this criteria. So I will switch to the Kicker Comp VR 07CVR102.

I am also now looking at the JVC Arsenal KSAR7004 amp instead of the Alpine amp.

Thank you.
