Im looking for advice on a new top end set up. I looking for 3-4 channels . I also have around 500-650 per amp. I have read the pros and cons on both amps however paper just doesnt always represent real world findings. Would anyone have experiance with a class D top end amp configuration say Alpine pdx 4x150? I hope to hear some feed back. Oh yeah I will be running 2 sets of Focal 165krx3 active and 2 sets of165krx2 one in kicks and one as rear fill also running active. Thanks or your time.

The PDX amps are awesome gear. I'm using two of them on my fronts, and I love the sound I get from them. After I bought them, I did a review here... See page 5 for the review, but read the whole thing if you'd like.

Active is the ONLY way I'd ever run anything from Focal. You bought 'cause of the name, didn't ya? You will find very few members here that like the Focal stuff - bright, and fatiguing are common descriptions for them. Also, DON'T PUT 'EM IN THE KICKS!!! Put them in the doors, you'll likely be much happier with the staging. I would also forego completely the rears... If you have not actually bought them yet, go listen to the JL C5's. They'll beat the Focals down... The ZRs are metal domes like the Focals, this is why I am recommending the silk dome C5's.

I know you were't asking about those opinions, but I just had to put my two cents in...

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Haemphyst, Thank you kindly for your reply. I'm happy to hear you are getting great results with the PDX amps. That helps put my mind at ease. As far as the Focal set up, I have the ability to pick them up from an authorized dealer for a complete steal. Hince the reason I was going to run them. Your advice has hit home pertaining to them.  Also I was planning on upgrading the tweeters to their soft dome line. I'm not a fan of harsh metel tweets. Which is just my opinion. Thanks again for your time.
