Ok so I have an '08 Wrangler, I took the back seats out and put 4 Image Dynamics 12" subs in. I ran the amp under the passenger seat but had it lifted off the ground so when a bit of water got in (because the doors leak in a heavy storm). I thought that would be enough but when it jumps up to 90 degrees right after the storm all the water in the Jeep evaporates and the ridiculously high humidity in the confined space shorted out my amp. So I looked into marine amps but any that could push enough power to my box are crazy expensive, and I am wondering if anyone has used any of the silicone conformal coating on the circuit board of an amp? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
What kind of amp did you have that got shorted out? Did you open it up to see that it did get damaged by moisture?
I have used this products many years ago, I think it will work for you. The only problem is going to be if you buy a new amp and coat the circuit board, chances are the manufacturer will not warranty the amp.

I had a kenwood 9104D. I took it to the shop and they said it had some corrosion and shorted a transistor.
Are they trying to repair it? Corrosion and a shorted transistor is not as bad as most make it out to be.

They fixed it, then when I went to hook it back up a few days later it still wasn't working, I took it back in and they ended up telling some crap about running it too low of impedance (the amp is 1ohm stable and I have it set to 2) that it can do 1 sub at 2ohm but not 4. So I called Kenwood to see if they had a knowledge of problems with this amp running at 2ohm. They said no but that if it was water damaged then they wont touch it because even if you fix the problem any of the other components that may have gotten wet could still be corroding and I would just have to keep spending money on it.
P.S. I tried going to look at the link you suggested but it just sends me to the main page and no product.
