i was thinking about getting 6.5 alpine type r components for my front soundstage and i was wondering if anyone has heard them in person and thinks that they would be worth $150? im planning on my front soundstage to be one 6.5 component set and an extra set of 6.5 mid 2 ways. does anyone have an opinion? thats my budget limit roughly for the components...any help is appreciated!

Are you going to run them with any kind of amp?

I can tell you they dont sound the best on deck power, as do many speakers.   But on a good amp with 100-200 watts per side, they sound great.

I have had the same set in my doors for over 5 years.   They took a kicker zr600 on them for over 2 years of thier life....yes thats roughly 300WRMS per side, and they loved it!

I have had mine in for over a year and they have been good to me. Mine are the previous model and handle the 75rms well. They get pretty loud and sound well just and use your ear to tune them how you want them.
