I have a 1992 pontiac bonneville se and ive just recently added a sub system to my car(350 watt kenwood amp, two 10" subs) anyway, i noticed that the rear passenger speaker was not working, but does make a scratching noise when the leads were hooked up, so i checked it on the other side and it works. i think their may be a short i the speaker wires somewhere. what should i do to fix this kind of problem without tearing my car apart?

Did you tap into the rear speaker wires to get signal for you amplifier?   If so, disconnect the wires that you connected to that speaker wire and see if your speaker begins to play again.

i have already checked that and it didnt do anything. the problem seems to only persist to the rear passenger speaker. its the same problem as the amp where only the left sub worked and the right didnt.

It appears as though you may have damaged one of the output chips in your factory radio.  When you were connecting the Line Out Converter, did you have the radio turned on?

i had this installed by TAS electronics. i checked it out and everything was in place. im guessing it was like this even before i added the subs. its very confusing as to why it is doing this to me
