i wanted to know if you have 2 of the same mono bass amps and they both have remote bass knobs with the phone jack style connectors, can you just use a regular phone spltterto connect both amps to 1remote knob is that possible???

I had someone ask me this same question a few months ago.  Honestly I don't know for sure as I've never had the proper equipment on hand to test this out.  I'm assuming you're talking about the rockford amps?  they have the 4 conductor wire which is the same as a standard 2-line phone cable.  In fact I actually replaced one of the cables that comes with the rockford amps, with a standard phone line cable and needless to say it worked perfectly.

However, jensen amps have remote bass knobs that use what looks like a normal phone plug, but that actually has 5 conductors and thus you have to use their equipment only.  A normal phone splitter would definitely not work for these amps.

Anyways, I highly doubt it would cause any harm to at least test it out.  Since there's no voltage being added or anything weird like that it certainly wouldn't hurt to try.  But if you do try it let us all know what happens for future reference...

Hey there yes it will work if it is a rockford amp i had a 1in and 4out connecter and hooked up four of the same amps and it worked pefect, the reason is because it has the wiring as the phone and it is letting the juice run throuh it if it is not a fosgate im not to sure but it is do it and you will be glad with the results.

I know a splitter won't work for the new Hifonics Zeus series amps. The bass knobs have components built into it (power LED, protection LED, and bass knob), and it conntects to the amp via a 6 conductor phone cable.

I tried to use a splitter, but got a horrendous squealing noise out of the 2 amps. I also tried to dissect the bass knob, and figured out which 2 wires were the bass knob wires, and tried to only use those, but no help. I didn't try diode isolating the wires, but I didn't know if it would have helped.
