I've never had woofer bigger than 15". I've only heard them in competitions and using single pulses (bass burps) so I can't really say how they would perform under "normal" musical use. Is this for the project u are working on? What type of sound are u looking for? spl? SQ?

I'm guessing you mean the Q model. I've worked with all Fi models before (mainly in home systems), and trust me, it's a good sub. The Q is a 18" sub. I personally LOVE the BTL (I have two in my home system), but I the BL and Q are pretty damn good for their price. Trust me, get them, and you won't think twice about buying them. Power them right, have them in the right box, tune your box and amp right, and you'll rip your car to pieces. I wouldn't be surprised if you can get into the high 140s to mid 150s with what you're thinking about. I just hope your planning on powering them right. Send 1100-1200 watts to them, and you'll be screaming for mercy...lol. Fi is a great company, but also take a look at DC Soundlab and Ascendant Audio. Both of those companies make pretty epic subs. AA's Mayhem = win.

Hey phin,
Thanks for the reply. I guess it is called the q model... I was on their site and it said h.q. But I am glad you said it's a good woofer. I just want an all a round good woofer for a good price and I am tiredof using large companies and wanted to help out the little guys. I will def check out those other companies andsee what they have. Thanks a lot

RE is also a good company to look at. The Q or the BL will definitely get your car pounding. Only one BL can get into the 140s, when properly powered and tuned. A Q, can probably do the same. They're good subs. You'll be impressed when you get them, and then you'll think, what the hell have I gotten myself into when they're fully broken in.

And lol...I've never heard someone refer to me a phin before. :D

Let me rephrase what I said about the BL. One BL can get into the 140s. Didn't mean ONLY one can.

lol Well that is your new nickname them... lol I was on my phone when I typed the message so I was lazy and didnt feel like writing your name out. Anyways well hopefully in about two months I will be able to buy atleast one to start with and then buy the rest later one. Right now I have a ton of work that needs to be done and spending all of my money on a system in not my top priority...YET. I still have to get paint and body done and finish up glassing my interior then I will buy the subs. I am happy to hear all of the good things about them. I am really tired of using the same large companies and never being really satisfied for how much I spent.

If you can put it into perspective for me, I had 2 15 in mtx 8500's ported in a wall in a tacoma with two matts 1000.1 a batcap and extra battery, how would the Q's sound compared to them? That was one of my favorite systems that I had. I am hoping the Q's will put those to shame since I want to run 4'18s. But what do you think as far as 15 8500 vs 15 Q series?

Although I want to glass the Q's in a ported box. I plan on spending a ton of money to get the fiberglass like an inch thick or more. I want it to be pretty stylish too! Anyways thanks for the info

You're running two 15's and planning on going to 4 15's? Big step up there my friend. Fi beats MTX hands down. 1 Q could probably take two 8500's. Lol. Properly tuned however. Drop the MTX's, and go with the Q's, and you'll be happy. Just make sure you giving atleast 1k RMS to each of them. Although, I'd put my money one two BTL 18's to keep up with 4 Q's. Lol. But seeing as I have never actually put BTL's in a car, I can't say if two BTL's would be louder than 4 Q's. I have a home system that I built not to long ago that's 2 cabinets. Each has a 6 cube main chamber and a smaller chamber for the components. 100% rockford power. :D 1 BTL 18 w/ 2 6.5" components. That setup is loud as hell. Wish I could cram them into my little CRV. Haha. Anyways. I'd bet that eve FI's SSD series could keep up with the 8500s. And I think that's their low end one.

Actually I am planning on running 4 18's not 15's. But I was talking about a 15 q series vs a 15 8500 sub vs sub. Not system vs system. I am just wanting to get an idea of what I'm in for
