Hey guys gotta question. I have two Alpine Type R 1042D subs with an Alpine PDX 1.1000 amp. If I'm not mistaken, using a 4 gauge power wire would be just fine. The only problem is the wire is not copper. It is oxygen-free though.How much power am I losing because of this? Would I be better off going with a 6 gauge wire that is copper? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Are you thinking that it is not copper because it is silver in color?

Yeah that's exactly what I thought. It is silver, doesn't say copper on it and I didn't buy it new so I just assumed it wasn't copper. I wouldn't even know what the material would be if it wasn't copper. I guess you could say " i am an idiot." lol. So am I good?

Most likely tin coated copper, usually used for Marine Apps.
I have see Knu Concepts selling an aluminum power wire. Most of the time you use less than 20 or so feet. The cost savings isn't the great fort the Au or blends. If you were using hundreds or thousands of feet the cost point might be worth it.

It is tinned copper.  They apply a light coat of solder to each of the strands before it goes into the machine that wraps the strands and then insulates the wire.  The copper colored and silver colored speaker wire is all copper.  They just tin one run of it so you can identify the 2 different strands.
