how much does an auxillary battery with installation normally cost? i was charged nearly 400 is that too much?

Depends on what you buy. How much was the battery without installation? What kind of battery did you purchase?

If it was done RIGHT, and they replaced both primary and auxillary batteries at the same time, with IDENTICAL and decent quality batteries, that'd be about the right money, I'd say.

I hope that you didn't let them talk you into any sort of isolator...
