Is it possible to wire 6 4-ohm DVC subs to a 3 ohm load? I was thinking wire 2 sets of 3 speakers to a 6 ohm load (voice coils parallel, speakers in series) and hook each set up to a speaker output (the amp is a mono amp that has two speaker outputs wired in parallel internally. Would this work or am I completely wrong?

your math is correct.   Wiring speakers in series does affect the amplifiers ability to control the woofers.  Control = ability to stop the woofers from moving after they begin to move.  This is referred to as the damping factor.  You will probably not be able to hear this, But if it sounds sloppy, this may be why.  Connect it and listen to it.  If your amp is only stable down to 2 ohms, with these speakers, this will probably be your best option.
