i have 2 12inch L7s that are going to be powered by a hifonics brutus 1600 watt amp and are wired at a 1 ohm load... im not really good with the whole port tuning and box building thing so im buying a pre made box for my L7s and jus need help on which one to choose. i only listen to rap and hiphop if that matters.
the 1st box is 4.0ft^3 which is the cubic feet or somethin im guessin and is tuned at 32hz
the 2nd box only shows that it is tuned at 38hz and not the cubic feet or watever
my question is the lower I go basically the louder it will be but will lose sound quality..
I want it to be loud so im leanin with the 32hz box but will I mess anything up as far as the subs and will it sound totally horrible compared to the higher tuned box.
i really want those deep bass tones..
any info or advice would be a BIG help and i would appreciate it thank you very much

Its actually the opposite.. The closer the box's tunning is the the Fs of the sub, the flatter response you're gonna get. The boxes that are tuned higher will prolly give you more output while the ones tuned lower will give you cleaner sound

heres the links to the each
tuned at 32hz
tuned at 38hz
so the 38hz would be louder

I agree. But if youre not so good with the volume and port design, the custom one can end up far worse than the pre fab ------------- UNLABELED Custom Car Club President

ebay links won't work here...
I second getting a custom enclosure made. If you do not know how to make one properly then I would suggest having someone else make it. Local car audio shops can build you one. Otherwise there are many people who build these for good prices online or even locally.
A custom enclosure is almost always going to be better if it is built properly so I would always recommend that over prefab.

Ok so one of my friends knows how to make boxes but I'm not sure do I jus follow the specs on the instruction manual for the box or jus let him do his own thing

Have your friend build the box to be 3 cubic feet in volume for each woofer. And it should be tuned at 34Hz for the best sound.
