Could someone tell me how you installed an aftermarket radio onto a '98 Civic w/security module?

I just installed one today and I had to hide the OEM radio  with the plugs connected. Of course I used a 1720 T harness from Metra to jump the power connections to the new radio, but is there another way besides keeping the stock radio hidden??

Hmmm, that's always what I heard of doing too.
This is probably what you did, but here's a pretty good
explanation on how to do it:

The only way to retain use of the factory alarm system and/or keyless entry is to use the t-harness and relocate the factory head unit.  Now of course if the person doesn't use keyless or has an aftermarket keyless entry/alarm system installed, then you don't have to bother with all the relocation stuff.
