subwoofer is bouncing to much

i have one 12 power acoustik 600w RMS in an obcon box. with a 450w alpine mono amp with a cap also. my friend has the same setup escept he has a 10 and his hits harder and doesnt bounce at all. what would cause my sub to bounce so much.

what type of box are you and your friend using? i would have to say subs in sealed enclosures don't move as much as in vented,

its an OBCON box. im not sure of the proper term but i know that a sub shouldnt have that much movement when the bass hits.

how do you KNOW how much your subwoofer should be moving??

Have you checked the excursion in a modeling program with the applied power and enclosure specifications???

it is called excursion.
