Recently installed aftermarket CD player in 96 caravan. I want to utilize the speaker system already installed. Using an aftermarket harness to wire in the cd player, I now have audio from the dash and far rear speakers only. There is a 2 pin female connector that is associated with the infinity speaker system's amps, But I have conflicting reports about how exactly to connect this connector in order to accomplish my aims.  Are they shunted to ground to turn on the external amps or vcc, or is it an auxilliary audio input.

Thanks in advance for any help.

What all connections are on the back of your factory head?  Obviously you've already hooked up the rectangular large connector.  What I mean is are there any DIN sockets?  I am having a similar problem with my Eagle (Chrysler) Talon with the Infinity system and have ordered a pre-out to DIN adapter to fix it.  I believe, but am not sure that you will want to disconnect all the high level speaker leads and only use the adapter for signal.

I believe in my case, the DIN connector on the back of the original unit is for a CD changer, as CD changer controls are co-indicated with the station presets on the front panel, although I did not find the other end of that DIN connection.  The aforementioned 2 pin connector was plugged into the back of the original head. Therein, I think, lies the puzzle.

I was always under the impression that the small white two-pin harness was for steering wheel controls.

When you made up your aftermarket harness adapter, did you connect the blue "power antenna" wire?  This wire also turns on the factory amplifier.

Chris is right, the WHITE 2 wire plug is the steering wheel control plug. The only thing is, I thought it was amale end, not a femail end ? Nonetheless, if it's wgite with 18 - 20 gauge wires, it is the steering wheel control plug.

Is there a site available where I can get a connector chart or wiring schematic for the Infinity stereo installed in a 1992 Dodge Caravan. I want to install an aftermarket CD receiver and need to know how to activate all of the original speakers , including the factory powered speakers. I have heard some people talk about "triggering" the speakers but don't know how this works?

Grab the LIGHT GREEN wire on the BLACK harness behind the radio, this is the remote amp turn on lead for the OEM Infinity system.
