Hey guys I need some info from the experts here. As you all know I am looking to have a 140 db+ daily driver. Now this car is a trunk car (ford Taurus) I want to get 2 AQ HDC3 12's and 2 AQ1200D Amps. If I build the boxes properly, face the subs and ports to fire into the cab of the car, and seal the trunk off just behind the subs could I be hitting 140's daily? Thanks guys I just want to make sure this is possible before I drop the money on them.

I say no, not unless you tune those woofers around 60Hz or whatever is the resonant frequency of the vehicle and that's way too high for a daily driver.  fs is too high and sensitivity is too low.

140 is possible with the right box, but it is just a question of how good will it sound. generally, the higher you tune a ported box, the worse it sounds on everyday music.  60hz is way too high to tune a daily driver to and it is also dangerous for the subs without a subsonic filter.  so long story short, even if you hit 140 with those subs, you probably wont be happy with how it sounds overall.

Ok guys thanks for the input. Im was going to tune the boxes to 37Hz. Do you think I should tune it lower and design a good ground pounder setup? Im ok with the alternative since 140 seems unreachable.

Model it first.  Those woofers will have very little output at 37Hz.

ok thanks guys for all your input. i have done some research and thinking and what ive come up with is i dont necessarily want to have a daily spl car. i think i want a daily ground pounder. something to wiz off the neighbors with. i am thinking about getting pioneer premier 12`s the ts-w3002d4. i would get 2 and build the box how i previously stated. what are your opinions? these subs fit a little nicer in my budget and seem to be on par with the aq hdc3s as far as t/s paras go. how would i want to tune the box? low or higher? i dont mean to seem like i ask a ton of questions. im just trying to learn.
