Can fi btl subs be put in a sealed enclosure and if so "How much air space does 2 12's require"?

They CAN be. But they recommend that they not be..
My suggestion would be, if you want to use a sealed box, use the money you would spend on the Fi 12s and buy some that would sound better in a sea;ed enclosure.

any subwoofer CAN be put in any enclosure.

BUT the BTL will not perform well at all in a sealed enclosure. Not designed for sealed enclosure.

If you want a sealed enclosure subwoofer look for one. SPL subwoofers are not sealed box subs.
