I want to hook up a set of 6.5 Alpine Type R's in my 2000 Honda Accord.. I believe they are 4 ohms at 100w RMS.. My question is when I hook them up in the speaker location how do I hook them up to my 4 channel amp in my trunk..?? I'm lookin at a Kicker 08ZX650.4 ZX Series 4-Channel Class AB Car Amplifier • 120W x 4 chan. @ 4 ohms • 170W x 4 chan. @ 2 ohms • 325W x 2 chan. @ 4 ohms • 650W x 4 chan. Max.. The rear 6x9's will be Alpine Type R's at 100RMS... Will that amp work for those speakers and how will I connect them!!! Thanks...

One way that some installers use to save time is to tie the front and rear speakers together behind the deck, use the front outputs of the amp and connect to the rear speaker wires of the car, use the rear outputs of the amp and connect directly to the rear speakers. The only problem with this is while it is a time saver and can have a neat appearance the gauge of wire comes into question. For a true performance system I would recommend running 12 ga. wire directly from the amp to all 4 speakers. Make sure you use grommets and avoid "pinch-points" The speaker and amp combination you have chosen should work well.
