what gauge wire should i run?

i'm planning on running a 300/4 amp for my speakers.. is it okay to use 8 gauge or should i go with a 4?

#8 is adequate for up to 100A, although I wouldn't push it that far...

Bigger wire can only help, but you'll be ok with 8ga.
