I have a sony CDX-RA650 head unit i have just replaced the ISO adapter for a new one, in a new car. The only way i could get my head unit to remember memory on my old ISO adapter was to connect the red wire with the yellow wire, however im unsure if this is the best way to tackle the problem?? shall i go ahead and connect the red wire to the yellow wire with the new ISO adapter? or is there a better way so that my head unit will remember presets when i turn off the ignition and back on???

You need to hook the YELLOW wire to a constant 12v positive wire. It is your memory wire. The RED wire is your switched power. Put it to a ignition/key positive wire.
If we knew what vehicle. It would be much easier to tell you the color codes and placement of these wire for you.

thanks for the reply, Its a seat ibiza 1997, the ISO adapter fits fine, i dont understand why the constant 12v wire should not be connected properly? but yeah think your right ile try it.

Found a wire diagram. Looks like the GREEN/ blue wire is your ignition/key hot. That would go to your red wire from the radio. The red wire from the vehical is your constant and would be hooked to your yellow wire from the radio. I would check these with a voltmeter to ensure these are correct. Brown from the vehicle is you ground.
