Howdy -

I have an old 1997 Civic with the stock radio still installed. The lights that light up the buttons went out unfortunately. I checked all of the fuses under the dash and under the hood and they're all fine.

So...I took the radio out and took it apart hoping to see a bulb. All I could see were about 5 LEDs soldered into the face's circuit board. Arg.

Does anyone have any ideas? I think it's strange that they all stopped working. They were working on and off for a few months and finally died.

I'm sure this is a lost cause, but thanks for any ideas.

THey could all be wired in series.  A bad solder joint or 1 failed LED could cause all of them to go out.   Have you tried to remove the curcuit board to check for bad solder joints?

Well, there's a circuit board behind the faceplate and one that's part of the whole radio. I only checked where the LEDs are on the faceplate, but I'll give the other board another check.

The board that contains the LEDs.
