For SPL, the only choice is the Power Bass. It's the most efficient, with the "highest claimed" power handling. (It *IS* Power Bass, though, so be exceptionally wary of that number.) With an Fs of 31Hz, you will have zero semblance of sound quality, (it'll sound like shiite, man...) but you did specify that you wanted SPL, and that one in a big ol' 40 to 42Hz box will split your head open...

Okay, I was leaning that way, and I know that Power Bass isnt the best, but for the value, I definitely think its worth it. I can get them each for $185 per sub and I will be getting 2 of them, plus shipping which is like $15 together. Do you think its worth it? or can i find something else for that price that will be better? Also one other thing, would you be able to help me with a box for those subs, again I will be running 2 of them, for SPL? Thanks haemphyst!

Im not a fan of Alpine. Id rather go with the PowerBass ones.

You could get Kicker L5's or even L7s for that price. Would be louder and a better sub then Power Bass.

Another thing you want to consider is the space you have available. Correct enclosure volume can make and break numbers.

Ive heard 2 12" L7s and they were in an SPL truck and hitting a 142-145db it depended who was running them, the guy himself, or one of his friends, but they didn't have a clue about the system. But I want something thats going to be louder than that. With my 2 12" Audiobahn AW1200Q's I was hitting 141.xx db. so I want something thats going to be louder, I could care less for SQ. SPL is what I am going for. Also, I think Kickers are too overpriced for their stuff and for the same amount, I could do better. However I do appreciate the recommendation.

Actually I did a 150db with 2 of the L7s sealed in a hatchback. 153db ported legal SPL on TL. I think you would be surprised what you can gain if they are done right. If you buy off the bay it is cheap and is WAY BETTER then PowerBass both in output and quality of sound. Don't get hung up by some retard that has no idea and runs prefab or poorly designed enclosures. Hell I do outlaw 30 sec average at 150db in a Street/Daily config in my Navigator on 2 l7 15s and a pair of zx1000.1s

If you still want PowerBass i can give you a guys email. He is selling his 2 15" PowerBass subs. He got beat by me in every contest this year. He was only doing 144s with more power than me. Im sure he would sell them VERY cheap. Think he was asking $50 a sub. Only used one year. BTW he did know what he was doing. Just Goes to show what kind of subs they really are.

haha. Yeah actually I cant stand the guy, he was so arrogant and ignorant. However, I digress, anyway what was your setup in the hatch? Like box size, amp and I can get 2 12" L7 2OHM DVC for 472 + like 15 for shipping brand new from an authorized dealer.

It was 2 L7s and a KX1200.1 In a '95 civic hatchback. If i did it now i would use the ZX1500.1 The enclosure was 3.25 cu.ft. per sub. ported at Fb 33Hz. In seperate chambers. Im sure it would have done even better if the tune was raised, but it was a daily beater so i didn't want to sacrifice the bit of quality it did have.
