i ordered a Power Acoustik TS-1920-2 which pushes 440 x 2 RMS @ 2ohms per channel. Will this amp be able to push into a 1.34 ohm load per channel without any issues ? The amp states that it is 2 ohm stable in stereo, but i was wondering if i would run into any problems if i ran it into said load.

Manufacturers put there lowest stable rating for a reason. To protect there amps. PA amps are very low quality. If it does work at the load it will not work for long. -------------

alright thanks. well can you suggest a way to wire 3 MA audio 12"'s 4 Ohm dvc to get maximum output ?

If you want the best ouput possible. Run on that amp run just 2 of the subs in series/parallel. That will give you a 2ohm load and full power out of the amp to the 2. Or you could use series parralel to all 3 but that will be a 3ohm load. You will not see full power nor a difference in output to the ear. -------------

That would be the way to go, if my amp was 2 ohm stable bridged. it is only 2 ohm stable, per channel in stereo mode. minimum impedance for bridged mode is 4 ohms. also, my subs are 300 rms/600max each. I Had 4 of them at one point, but some idiot put a bag on top of my box and blew a hole in the cone. would i see better results if i were to purchase a replacement, and run 4 12"s?

Did I do that?

Yeah i forgot you are using a stereo amp. Series/parallel although would give you a 2ohm load would only utilize on channel, Not so good. That would only give you half the power from your amp. With 2 subs you would want to wire each sub in series giving you a 4ohm load per channel or Bridged you would have to run series/series giving you a 8ohm bridge load, Same power. Getting a 4th sub would infact be best. You would be able to present a 4ohm bridge and extract full power from the amp.

thats what i figured...now one more question, i am considering building a new box for 4 MA audio MA121XQ
specs as follows: Size: 12 Inches
Power Handling Capabilities:
600 Watts Power Handling
300 Watts RMS Power Handling
High Profile Triple Treated Surround
Black Powder Coated Stamped Steel Basket
Copper Wound Black Anodized Aluminum Voice Coils
Dual Laminated Cotton Spider
Rubber Sealant Gasket
Vented Bumped Back Plate
60 Oz. Strontium Magnet
Platinum Plated Block Terminals
Sensitivity: 88.36dB
Impedance: 4 Ohm Dual Voice Coil
Mounting Depth: 5.5"
Mounting Diameter: 11.75"
Optimum Vented Box: 3.0 Cu/Ft
Optimum Sealed Box: 1.0 - 1.5 Cu/Ft
What would be the best size box for this set up, tuned to 36 hz?
i have a sealed box for 4 12"s, which is 4 cubes.

What i found was
-Ported 1.75cu.ft. 14sq.in. port area per sub.
-Sealed is .5 - 1cu.ft. per sub
The MA site is down right now. I would shoot them an email and see what they recommend. -------------

That they are i went off his 1.34 load for 3 and assumed dual 2s. Did not see they are in fact DVC 4ohm drivers. That changes everything.
With 4 you would run 2 per channel at a 4ohm load per channel.
Or again just 2 of them would be best of what you have now. series parallel at a 4ohm bridge load.
DVC 4ohm wire config
You will want to use the 2nd option. -------------

haha thanks for all the help from both of you, last question: with the 4 12"s, should i use shared air space? or use a divided set up ? which would have highest spl ?

How big is the hole in the 4th woofer? Did you throw it away already?

If I am allowed by space, I always run separate chambers. If something happens to one sub the others can play in there recommended enclosure volume. If however you dont have enough room. You can get away with a slightly smaller enclosure if they share the chamber. -------------

no, i still have it. i was considering a re-cone, yet i have a hook up so i can get these speakers or damn near the price it would take to re-cone it. might as well get the new one :p

would i achieve a deeper bass if the subs share a chamber? and what airspace would you recommend if i end up building the shared airspace ?

The Ma site is down. I would send them an email asking what they recommend. I have looked 3 places and found 3 different recommendations on enclosure sizes. If sealed and shared im sure it would sound a bit deeper then separate, but if you stayed at the full recommended size for one sub and added it together for all it would get sloppy. ported the port will dictate the tune. -------------

so if i am having 4 subs in the same airspace, do i add the recommended airspace from each sub together? or how does that work ? im sorry if i am sounding stupid. just wondering the correct way to do things.

It may be possible to repair the hole. It may not look pretty, but I have repaired many.

He claims I did. I do not remember doing it. But it does sound like something I would do. The worse one that I have repaired so far was a paper cone Eectrovoice 18 that had a 9.6 volt Makita drill pushed through it. You are saying hey that might not be too bad, it went to the trigger.
