All,

new to the forums, looks like a great place. I did some searches here trying to find some more information that would help me with my setup, with not much luck. I will keep this short and sweet, hoping someone has some ideas for me.

I am installing a system in my 04 Dodge Ram Reg Cab truck, I already have the new deck (Alpine CDE 9887) and amp (Kenwood Excelon X1200M) along with another amp and set of mids, etc... This is my question.

With the amount of room I have, I am limited to what subs I can find that will fit in the box, which I am going to buy from Musicmoose.com. With this setup, I am looking at a mounting depth of only 6.5", and I can't find too many subs that will fit in this box. Either they are too deep to fit OR I can't find the mounting depth of the subs.

So, does anyone know first hand of what 12" subs that will work in this box that has a max of 6.5" mounting depth and be a good match for my amp?

Any information would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I would stick to 10s. Easier on mounting depth normally and also easier to get an enclosure at a more optimal size. Shallow 12s might get you more cone area, but sound like trash and don't put out as well as compared to a normal subwoofer.
