Hey, I just got xmas money and was wondering if all of this would work in a 1986 jeep cherokee if i ordered them and basically gave them to someone to install. my jeep has stock speakers so i want to take those out and put in something nice plus i want an amp and sub and a nice deck. is this stuff good?

If you gave me the money and I HAD to buy one thing on your list, it would have to be the radio.

Lets just say, to be able to say you got subs in the vehicle, you're all good. The performance will fall well short of expectation.

Alright so after talking to people this is the new stuff I might get instead:
Amp: woofersetc.com/p3788/ZX7501--Kicker-1-Ch-750-Watt-ZX-Series-Amplifier.htm
Subs (2x): woofersetc.com/p5317/07CVR122--Kicker-12%22-800-Watt-2-Ohm-DVC-CompVR-Subwoofer.htm
Speakers: outlet.crutchfield.com/p_065SX50/Boston-Acoustics-SX50.html?cc=02&tp=106
Deck: woofersetc.com/p7563/CDA105--Alpine-CD-MP3-WMA-AAC-Receiver-and-iPod-Controller.htm

Okay, now that we got all of that figured out I have a couple more questions. Once I order all of this, where would you recommend going to get all of it installed? (I know it is going to be expensive, I am just too dumb to do it myself)
And also, I have more speakers in my car besides two, so when I am playing music am I going to not only hear these new speakers but the old doodiety stock ones too? And don't I need a box for my subs/amp?
Thanks a lot!!

Yes you will need an enclosure for the subs. Also don't forget a 4 gauge wire kit for the amp, including RCA's and remote turn on and a wire harness for the deck and if needed a dash kit.

As for installing the equipment. Look for a local stereo shop. Some will do the install some will not want to do it because they warranty there work and you did not buy from it them and they have no way to warranty.

It will probably be a mission trying to find a place to offer a warranty on labor...As reed said, since you didnt buy from the shop....If you have a total...Present some local shops with your budget and product and see if they can come close to matching.... I always tell customers when they ask if i can match an internet price...Can they match my service...! Meaning if something goes wrong ...Not only do you have to ship these products back...But then pay labor again to re-install...SO now that you have a plan...Start shopping at some local radio/install shops...! Some bigger ma/pa shops bought alot of product for the holiday season that they might let go for a GOOD price...!

Exactly so many people forget this and then complain when either they purchase the wrong product or get product that doesn't do what they were looking for to begin with. Then we are expected to bend over backwards to "help" them out even though they purchsed there gear online. Hit your local shops up, I know we have a few bass pkgs left over from x-mas that we are blowing out so I am sure they will have something also.

If you are going to spend money on gear, especially a budget like $600, in my opinion, wouldn't this be a great time to learn? Most products will come with at least basic instructions for installation, it doesn't hurt to try right? You probably aren't too dumb to do it yourself. Since you want to have aftermarket gear, it could save you bundles down the road if you take the time to learn. Everybody starts somewhere, unless you just don't want to get a bit dirty.. I'm just throwing the thought out there.
