Ok to kick this all off all formal like I am entirely new to the site but not to car audio. While I may not be a complete beginner it is very obvious that your guys knowledge on this beats mine 50 to 1 lol.

Now then.....I have got a Kenwood KAC-7201 amplifier. I have had it for awhile and am rather pleased with it's performance. It recently blew a crummy pair of Pioneer 12's a friend did not want anymore(None of that was important at all just had to throw it in) While the Pioneers provided "OK" bass I did not pay for them so I have no interest in fixing them. Instead I am opting to purchase a new better subwoofer or pair. I had my sights set on a 2008 Solobaric 15" L5 but was afraid my amp would not be sufficent to push it to the best of it's abilities. I considered the L7 due to being a dual 2 Ohm but didn't know if that would be a problem if I bridged it on my amp which would then be 4 Ohm it confuses me frankly. My main question is whether you guys think either of the 2 previously listed subwoofers would be very compatible with my amp. If not your ideas on a differant model or even manufactuer. I am not looking to replace the amp...I just want a sub or subs that would be compatible with my amp yet give me the most oomph. Budget is really not an issue just don't get ridiculous lol. Also if either of the 2 that I listed will work would it be possible to let me know the best way you think would be to wire these to the amp to get maximum power to these things?

About your amp?  1 channel or 2?  What is the minimum safe operating impedance?

It's a stereo amp, rated 150X2, 800 watts peak. At 2-ohms per channel, it'll do 230WPC. It is not 1-ohm stable.

1: Are you looking for ANY kind of sound quality, or are you just into it for the boom?

2: The L series Kickers want a BIG box to perform at all, and you'll STILL sound like complete crap, in my opinion. (An opinion shared by many here...)

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Surprisingly yes I am looking for sound quality. I am not looking for it to be a true SQ setup though. I just don't want it to sound like complete trash. I have read many pros and cons of the specific item in question and that is why I wanted your guys opinions first. Since you guys seem to think this will sound horrible what are my other options?

Sorry for the double post but I failed to remember to add the fact that space is not an issue since it will be in the back of an Suv. 99 4 dr chevy blazer if it helps any at all.

Where in Ar do you live? I have 2 L7 15s on 2 ZX1000.1s if you wanna hear how much they sound like "trash". I have givin MANY demos in my ride. Never had a person say my subs sound like trash. Most say the opposite. Even had quite a few JL owners set in my ride and about crap them selves after they have heard my truck and I tell them its Kicker subs. Sure its no SQ sub, but if you have the room and build a good CORRECT enclosure. They make for a good street beater.
