I have a chance to buy a headunit brand new from a shop in my town. He is offering either the clarion nz409 or the eclipse avn7000. Which one would be better. I am somewhat of a audiophile not a big one though. The navigation is a so so with me as I have several navigation units. I have a single din. I am currently running a 500.1 amp with 2 12inch subs. I have intentions of adding an flip down monitor and upgrading my interior speakers.

I would take the Clarion over the Eclipse. Just my opinion.

I'm a Clarion freak through and through, but my vote would be the Eclipse. Clarion hasn't made a real decent indash monitor/HU in a few years. My first 3 HU's were Clarions and I still have all 3 of them. I currently have an Eclipse CD8455. I'm waiting for the day that Clarion comes out w/a indash HU capable of video and the extras I need/want.

That's a no brainer now since Eclipse is out of business and Clarion is not. Who dug this post up anyways ????
