I have a 2006 H3 Hummer with a Viper 5701 alarm/remote start system which was working fine prior to my install of my new Alpine radio.  I used the Passlock bypass for my remote start if it makes a difference.  The new radio I installed today is the Alpine iXA-W404.  I used the GMOS-04 wiring harness adaper and also PAC TR-7 bypass so I can watch without the e-brake and park being on.  The radio appears to be working fine and the video bypass is working also because I played a video will in drive.  Now the remote start will not work though and when I lock the car I get a buzz and flash on my 2 way remote in addition to the normal.  I am far from an expert with things like this, but I think I have a decent grasp on installing radios and players.  What could be causing the remote start not to work now?  I will say when I was soldering all of the wires inside before the install I hooked the PAC TR-7's 12 volt constant wire to either the radio's ignition or battery wire.  I also think I hooked up the PAC TR-7's ground to the radio's ground.  I am going to take it out tomorrow and see what exactly I did.  I am thinking after typing on this forum that my problem could be the video bypass being hooked up the the radio's ignition wire.  Would this mess with the remote start?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Are your parking lights flashing after your error chirp from fob?

The parking lights are not flashing.  I wish they were though since it tells you what the problem is pretty much.  I am going to take everything out sometime today and go over all of my wiring.  Thanks!

Ok so I never got around to taking the radio out today because my wife had other plans for me.  However, now I am getting 6 flashes on the lights when I try to activate the remote start.  Six flashes is the hood pin switch, correct?  If it is, I will have to figure out how this happened because I have not opened the hood lately.  I live in Germany so it is harder for me to get things like this, so it's a good thing I ordered 10 hood pin switches for back up last week.  Any help is appreciated on ideas or what you think is wrong...thanks!

Ok I know I just posted, but I did a little more research after my post and think the problem might be the PAC TR-7 video bypass like I said before.  Since it is sending a signal to the radio telling it the brake is activated, could that be making the remote start think the brake is active?  This would make the remote start not work, right?

It's your hoodpin. Make sure it is super tight, and that the bottom of it is not hitting metal when you press it all the way down.

Or just unhook it as a temporary test.

It ended up being part of the plunger on the hoodpin broke off so it wasn't pushing down far enough.  Thanks all for the help!
