hi, i've been looking at mono channel amps and i've come across amps like these all the time. they say they're mono channel but when u look at them they have 2 channels(see pic below)... and in the description they usually say "amps cannot be bridged..." so my question is, are these legitamite mono channel amps? and if they are, how am i supposed to wire them? -the example below is the Phoenix Gold Octane R 5.0:1 Class A/B MonoBlock Amplifier-

and help would be greatly appreciated! thanks :D

There is only one channel on that amp.  Both positive terminals are connected together internally, same for the negative terminals.  This is done for ease of connectivity.  It is a common practice among almost all manufacturers.

What's "truely"?

Oooohhh.... TRULY! I got it, now...

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

ok heres another example, the jensen power900. it has the same terminal set up and says its a mono channel as well.

now how can that be a mono amp when it tells you to hook 2 subs up to each of the terminals and bridge one sub just like a 2ch amp?

bare with me im new to ohms and amps. im trying to get a solid amp for bass, but i dont see a diffrence between this amp and a traditional 2ch amp...

like to the users manual - audiovox2.info/docs/jensen/man/POWER900_DOC_OM.PDF

It doesn't matter which negative or positive terminal is used, both are internally connected! In the instance of the diagram, the two sub setup is to show how to acquire a two ohm nominal impedance!
