I am trying to decide between an Infinity 12" sub or a JBL 12" sub.  Both are almost the same price same wattage and same size ported box (which is what I want to use).  However I believe that the Infinity is the middle of the road sub or higher line sub from infinity.  The JBL is the entry level sub from JBL.  Both need 300 watts rms and a 2cu ft. ported box.  Was curious about which may be the better choice for loudness and sq.  I have heard that the infinity will give great sq and the jbl is a thumping sub.  Both I would use the same name brand amp JBL with JBL and Infinity with Infinity.  Both will be ported and both will be used in a boat.

Infinity and JBL are both a Harmon International company.  Both of those woofers have the same identical specifications.  I am pretty sure that they are identical drivers other than the badging.

Very good point you are exactly correct.  That's exactly what I found.  So are they descent audio equipment.  I know they are not the best but I am just looking for descent sound in the boat without it being overpowering.  I need to keep the wattage at a lower level because I only have 60 amps for a charging system on that boat.  Thanks
