i need to know what would be the best setup for my audio system. i have a Quantum audio monoblock amp. its 2000 wats peak power. it doesnt say what the rms is but ive looked around and people are saying its1000. my subs are 12's 1200 watts Pyle audio. they are dual voice coil 4 ohms per coil. the rms seams to be unknown even by the manufacturer. what would be the best way to wire this combo. ive been really confused since the amps has two sets of outputs for subs. so it has two positive and two negative.
What is the model number for the amp? They have made both 1ohm stable and 2ohm stable mono amps. Need to know what amp it is to suggest you best wiring option, but here is a link to your wiring options depending if it is 1ohm or 2 ohm stable.
(2) DVC 4 ohm sub wiring diagram. If it is a 1ohm stable amp you can use option 1 for a 1ohm load. If it is a 2ohm stable amp you are limited to option 2 running it at a 4ohm load.
As for the 2 sets of positive and neg. If it is a mono block they are connected internally. This is done for ease of instillation when using more than one connection at the amp.
If you set gain properly you should be fine if it is less then rated power or more than rated power to the subs.
How to set gain topic.-------------
