I never really gave this any thought till now. I tried to google it but am coming up dry.

Lets say you have an amp that is rated for 100w @ 4ohms, and 200w @ 2ohms. If I run 2 4ohm speakers on that ch. I will be producing a 2ohm load and the amp will put out 200w to the two speakers.

Now does that mean that each speaker will be recieving 200w or would each be getting 100w?? I realize they are hooked together so the logical thought would be they are each getting 200w but I thought I would ask the question.

The amps output is the maximum output to drive the load, regardless of the load.

If you have 200 watts out and you hook up 200 speakers, they will get 1 watt a piece.  If you hook up two speakers they will get 100 watts a piece, and if you hook up one it will get 200 watts.

How the power is split up depends on the impedence and number of speakers. (ie if you hook an 8 ohm sub and a 4 ohm sub in parallel it won't be a 50/50 power split it will be a 33/66 split)
