If it worked before and it's not now, it's likely one of two things:  Either you need to reset your gains, especially if you changed the speaker impedance you're using, or you have a damaged amplifier output channel (you did turn it off before you started messing with it, right?) or you have a speaker or speaker wire that is shorting out the amplifier as the volume goes up.

If I turn the radio off and back on it plays and if I mess with the cross over settings it won't cut off as often I like the way it sounds with the amp but will it still sound good without the amp or should I just try to buy another amp

You should first make sure your amp is set up properly.  Do the situations in my earlier post apply to you?

Reset the gains ? I have the gains all the way down now it seems not to cut off with allthe way down so should I keep the gain all the way down and turn the crossovers up and wen I hooked the speakers up I had everything off. U said something about independence how would I change it
