Okay, I know that every sub has a minimum air space requirement, but is there a "best practice" for just the minimum width?  If I have a 10" sub, should I not go less than 11" or 12" width?  I have plenty of vertical space in my trunk as well as space front-to-back but the width is a little tight.  Thoughts?

It really doesn't matter for subwoofers.  Make it fit.  posted_image

Smaller mounting area and a deeper box will almost always give you better results than a larger area and shallow box.
