I am about to fit my Kenwood KSC-SW10 Active Subwoofer into my Renault Scenic. I removed the subwoofer from my previous car and had to cut the wires.
It seems the previous owner of my Scenic had an amp fitted in the boot and has left some of the wiring in place, this consists of an 8awg power lead, a switch lead and 8awg earth lead and an rca cable.
Can i use these to run my little subwoofer?
The power leads on the subwoofer are 18awg with a 10 amp fuse, so the 8awg is overkill but if i can use these it would save buying new cable and fitting it.

Any advice??
Cheers
Jon

toss that crap out and use 1/0 and 4 awg for your sub leads

That powered sub is 35w RMS 150w MAX

I would use the existing 8awg it's plenty overkill for this amp.
Don't forget to fuse the 8awg 12" or so from the battery + terminal. I would lean toward the safe side and fuse it at 40a or 50a. The 10amp fuse on the 18awg stays the same as per Kenwood's spec.
