I am attempting to install a new stero and am searching for a wiring diagram for a 2000 Ford Focus. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

As long as the factory harness is not cut, I STRONGLY recommend that you use a wiring harness to hook up the aftermarket deck. I'm pretty sure the one you need is the 70-5002 from metra. The plug ends go in to the factory plugs, and the bare wire ends match up color to color with the bare wire ends of your aftermarket deck.

If you use a harness you don't have to worry about the factory wiring colors, and you can also always return the car to its original condition and/or put the factory radio back in if you plan on selling the car or moving the aftermarket deck to a different vehicle.

I don't know the exact wiring colors for this particular vehicle and even if I did I'd insist that you verify them with a multimeter first. Do yourself a favor and get the wiring harness instead posted_image

Thanks for the reply. The problem is my son decided to do this install himself and cut off all the connectors and now I am trying to correct the problem. I guess the best route may be so solder the connector back on and get the wiring harness like you suggested.

If you still have the connectors then definitely I'd try to solder them back on and use the wiring harness as you said. If you do decide to go this route and still have the factory deck, I'd suggest taking the factory deck with you to wherever you go to purchase the wiring harness. This way you can be sure that you're getting the right harness before you buy it--just pick the harness that has plugs that look identical to the connectors built in to the factory radio.

Even though the wire colors do not always match up between different models and/or years, the wiring harness will still function the same. For example, a 70-5002 harness will work on both an 89 taurus and a 93 taurus, even if each car uses different color factory wires. They will still end up going to the same pinout positions in the connectors.
