here's my issue: I bought an alpine type r subwoofer to add to my sound system with a 1600w hifonics amp. the setup worked fine for about a month until one day the speakers all stopped playing, while the subwoofer still was working fine. But everytime i turned my car on they made a sound like a guitar getting plugged into an amp. I made sure I didn't blow the speakers then called a store that pioneer had referenced me to to fix the problem. They told me I blew the output transistors on my deck, so I went and bought/installed a new one yesterday. To my dismay the problem still exists. I have also checked all the fuses and they look fine. Any idea as to what's happening?

Thanks,
Jake

Year, make, and model. PLEASE.
It helps a lot to know what vehicle we're talking about.
you see some some vehicles hove FACTORY amps for the door speakers. we need to know if thats your case.
Please take your a minute to read the forum rules before asking for help. otherwise most people who can help you will ignore you because you didn't include the year, make, model.

I did read the forum rules, but didn't really think it was relevant to include my car info, considering it is basic without any stock upgrades. But, if you insist my car is a 1991 Honda accord ex

We're still gonna need some more info like factory or aftermarket radio, were speakers installed recently if at all. But to try and help out check if any of your speakers are grounding out. Usually if speakers are grounding out, certain radios wont output anything to them.

I would test all the fuses with a DMM, just because they look ok doesn't mean they are.  How many channels does the amp have and how is it wired?

the deck is a Pioneer DEH-P5100UB. I have all aftermarket Pioneer speakers as well. I installed them when I installed my first deck...about a year ago.

the amp has one channel, and it's wired at 2-ohms, outputting 1100w.

ill try a new ground tomorrow with the speakers and see if there's any luck
