Hey all...

It's been a long while since I've posted - Laid off from work and unable to do any audio upgrading to the vehicle I had bought just before the rug was pulled out. Architecture is dead around the St. Louis area, as it is almost everywhere else. Oh well, I'll just wait until it turns around...

Anyway, Thanks to many of your recommendations, especially Haemphyst's, I have decided on a TC Sounds 10" driver as I continue to develop and redevelop my audio system design.

As you may have noticed there has been a lot of discussion about TC Sounds/Audiopulse. Finally, this morning, after many weeks of searching our unbelievably honest and helpful forum and various online sources, I decided to call TC Sounds/Audiopulse and find out the story. I talked with Julie over there and she was more than happy to take as much time as it took to explain what happened and where they are now and answer some questions about the Audiopulse Epic 10's. Here is a synopsis:

I told Julie that I was researching their drivers on this forum and across the net (other forums, websites, etc.) and I was concerned about the company's apparent restructuring and where they now stand. She told me that TC Sounds had hired someone in order to "jump-start" a marketing plan which included the name change to Audiopulse. That didn't work out due to broken promises on the "new-hire's" part. The relationship was severed and TC is now in the process of rebuilding after a bankruptcy. They are back to the name of TC Sounds and Thilo is still there as the man in charge...Julie also offered to let me speak to Thilo directly regarding my questions about the Epic's (although she was quite capable herself and honest about telling me she was unsure of the answer to one of my questions, which is when she offered up Thilo). They are down to about 5 employee's (can't remember the exact number she told me), but they all believe in Thilo's philosophies about quality sound reproduction as well as build quality. They plan on doing a production run of a couple of their driver lines soon, although she couldn't disclose the exact date.

So there we are...just waiting until they are back with a vengeance, but the waiting will only bring more questions, I assume...

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
