can i tweeter corssover burn out? one side of my alpine componets teh tweeters picking up alot more then the other.... there nto that old.... Im thinking the crossovers nto working? is that possiable.?
Not usually the crossover that fails but the tweeter itself. Thermal damage from overpowering. The crossover is usually just a simple capacitor.

Can a crossover blow? Yes, but it's highly unlikely that something in the crossover would fail before the tweeter does. Being louder is not the sam as "picking up more frequencies." What's the models of the speakers? Have you checked your balance control?

Support the12volt.comThey are alpine s series ..80 rms ... i have them hooked up to 4 channel amp.. there on channel 1 and 2 .. all agains are same.. and balance.. one picks up more voices etc... the others not as loud and sound more sharp..
if i turn bass up ..listening to the one thats louder.. with full bass seems to sound fine.. dotn sound like theres bass trying to come threw.. but i dont know .. kinda stumped..
Got anthor ? ......say if a diffrent tweeter that has no crossover... would the highpass xover on the amp be enough to work on a tweeter freq.?
Alpine S-series tweeter... do you mean something like the SPS-1005? Those are rated at 30 watts. What crossover are you using with them? And I cannot answer your question about using your built-in amplifier crossover since you have not told me what amp it is.

ohh yea and the crossovers came with the set..
OK, a couple of things, and you're probably not going to like some of it. First off, that amplifier is genuine garbage, so what you're hearing may actually just be a bad amplifier channel or high distortion. I assume you have the tweeters connected to their own channel, like channel 1 and 2? If not, please explain your COMPLETE setup, including model numbers. How did you set the gains on that amp? Plus the HP crossovers on that amp are not sufficient to control tweeters by itself, you definitely need to use the passive crossovers that came with the tweeters or a separate electronic crossover if you want a full-active system. But again, how do you have the system set up now and what else is in it?
Second you still haven't told me the model numbers of your tweeters, but you did say they came with a crossover. I assume you used them and connected them per the installation instructions? Describe what wire is going where...
