Hello

I have a Massive 3000.1 amp that i had trouble with

i paid to get it repaired from running it too low with 1ohm.

I got it back after 10 long months, wire the sub to 4 ohms, turn up the music and the amp just starts POPS and starts smoking. Now after spending 800 bucks into this amp i think done. I have a kinetic 1800 drycell 0 gauge with 250amp fuses.

I opened it up to see if anythings wrong and heres how it looks...

scared to hook it back up...wouldnt there be signs of it being fried?

Not necessarily. I'm curious, can you see anything that appears different or changed. I'm wondering if they replaced the guts, or just some individual components.

You have to remove the 4 gold trim pieces to see any damage.

Call the person that took 10 months to repair it or at least ask for your money back.

If it was smoking you should see some burn or witness marks somewhere on the board. While it was smoking did it smell like it was burning too? Only other reason I can think of smoke with no witness marks is if they used a funny heat sink compound (by funny I mean something completely incorrect) but by the sounds of it, I am not even sure you had the amp on long enough to make enough heat.

How high did you have the gain when you tested it for the first time?

I removed all the 4 gold trims and seen no burns marks or anything. But i found the ground terminal has little burn mark on it....does that mean bad ground? there was a sticky like soda substance on the back of the amp i unscrewed.

i asked for my money back but the guy ive been dealing with for the past 10 months is prolly the worst ran business in america....he'll get his....karma.

The terminal on that amp looks like a faulty connection to me. Either connecting the wire with the -Neg terminal hooked on the battery, or the wire wasnt seated and was causing a faulty signal. Hardly enough evidence to suggest device failure.

So i hooked up the amp....

and the big black cylinder things on the left just started melting.

Is there any writing or markings on the thing that is melting? If not, it would help if we could find out which black cylinder thing on the left you were talking about.

it was the 2 on the left from the picture.....the bridged 2ohm channel didnt work, so i tried to change channels...when i did the left black cylinders started leaking fluid and then smoking....alot. melting the words. im so sick of this amp not workin on me....how much can i get sellin this broken one?
