Hey all. I'm about to embark on a project here and wanted to know if it was feasible. I'm currently running an '08 Equinox with the Pioneer 7 speaker system similar to the bose ie. amp and subwoofer.
What I'm planning on doing is retaining the stock radio and upgrading the amp to a 5 channel to run the speakers and the sub off of channel 5 to give me a boost in power while retaining the factory head.

I do have a wiring diagram of the current system and it looks as though I could just run the input and outputs to the new amp. From the diagram though it looks as though there are no inputs for the sub. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas how I can do this, let me know.

Thanks.

Does your 5 channel amp have 5 inputs or 4?

It would have 5 inputs. 1 for each door speaker and 1 for the sub.

5 channel amps are pretty standard. From the diagram, each of the speakers inputs and outputs are easy to get to. The subwoofer on the other hand in the diagram has the output coming out of the amp to the sub, but no assigned input going in. This is where I may have trouble.

Typically if a radio doesn't have a dedicated sub output then the rears are used. I imagine worse case you can use the rear inputs as the sub input as well.
