OK....I am getting a single 8" loaded Probox enclosure but I don't know if the sub is a SVC or DVC???  I know it is a 2-ohm sub...but unsure of anything else and PB site is useless!!

Can someone help me figure this out!!

Next thing is....I am wiring it into a Sony XM1652Z which is a 2-channel amp and it shows

*  1000 watts max power
*  165W x 2 @ 4 ohm
*  200W x 2 @ 2 ohm
*  400W x 1 @ 4 ohm

....SO I'm not the smartest on converting ohms down and etc etc....how would I wire this properly to the one sub being a 2-ohm sub...and I still don't know if its a SVC or DVC...maybe someone can answer that for me too!!

Thanks again guys!!

That amp will not run 2 ohm mono.  Your only hope is that the woofer may be a dual 4 ohm driver, if it is, you can connect the voice coils in series for an 8 ohm load.  The amp will run an 8 ohm mono load.  A 4 ohm driver would have been better for your amp, or a 2 ohm stable mono amp.

yeah thats what I thougt and the guy at a steroe shop here locally said to run it standard 2 channel 4-ohm as normal and only use 1 channel....I said I figured it would hurt the amp and he said no....

so basically leave it in 2 channel mode and only use 1 of them...does that make sense??

Running only one channel of the amp will not hurt anything, but you will be wasting half of your amp.

OK well....I'm back at it with another amp!!

Same Probox as mentioned above...which is rated at 400 watts RMS and a local dealer is telling me to put a Soundstorm F2600D on it....which I got to reading is rated at 1200 watts RMS @ 2 ohms....he said it won't hurt anything just keep the gain control 1/4 or less....is that right?  Seems an awful lot to me!!!! But the price was attractive....

NOW...he also said a Polk Audio PA 400.1 or 600.1 would be fine.  He said the 600.1 would be perfect just keep the gain 1/2ish or below and it would be fine.

Opinions??

And a little other info...I'm not a bass head...I just like to round out the music.  I love to HEAR the music, the details from the hi's to the lows....I actually listen to my music...I'm not out to impress anyone except myself...just so you know I'm not wanting to blow the windows out, just listen to my music!

Which one do you think would serve the purpose?
