i have replaced my factory speakers with some cheap (but nice looking) phoenix golds. the fronts are rated at 50rms and the rears are 80rms. i'd like to boost them up.. what kind of amp should i get? 50wx4? or could i go higher since the rears are 80rms and just dont crank the gain too high? im a noob so please forgive my ignorance! :)

this is just a work car so i dont need anything fancy. ty in advance.

say i was to get a 100x4, is there any way to wire it to send 50rms to the fronts and 80 to the rears?

An amp does not "send" power in that way.  An amp has a reserve of available power that can be drawn by the speaker depending on its impedance and depending on how high the volume control is set (input signal level.)  A speaker is rated for how much power it can safely handle before it can be destroyed.  In most cases, the average user at normal loud car audio listening levels is using 10-20 watts.  So yes, you can use a 100X4 amplifier, but just be careful with the volume control and if you hear your 50 watt speakers distorting or bottoming out (or if you smell burning voice coils) then turn it down.
