i have a aplin radio with a 900 wat amp and two 12 inch alpin type r and i have the volume set to 20 and the subs are wired to 1 ohm, and yes my amp is 1 ohm stable but when i turn it to 19 on some songs it causes my subs to make a poping sound and sometimes even blows my amp fuses and i set the amp gains right with a dmm.

any ideas on why the subs might be popping and it not when i turn it off or anything it will be during the songs when loud bass notes happen

i've never heard of "aplin" brand.

however if you meant ALPINE then lets move on. . .

I'm going to suggest you read the "how to set your gains" link here

After you have set your gains correctly, then you can explain how exactly did you use your DMM to set your gains, or better yet give a model number of the DMM that you used.

You could be bottoming out the subs as well. Seeing the limited info you have givin regarding the amp(wiring size, fuse size, model numbers) and nothing about the enclosure. Your not going to get many responses till you do.

i did 900 wats times the 1 ohm wich is 900 and then took the square root and then i put on a 30 hz song put the dmm on the positive and negative of the amp for the terminals and set the gains doing it that way, and had the volume on 20 so i should be able to put the volume on 20 right?

i dont know a whole alot about car audio
