I have a huge ma amplifier that I got from a friend,I can not find any    numbers on it anywhere. It has a 120 amp fuse in it and two pwer output old school gauges with the needles to show output power, the kind that bounce.I did find some numbers, they are I believe ma1382h*. The speaker terminals on the amp are + - - + Any information about this amp would be greatly appreciated. +      -

Im not sure even if it is a2 channel or monoblock. There are four speaker terminals for two subs or it says bridged with lines running to the far left and right terminals. Can I run three different 10" subs two single vc and one volfehage with dual vc.

I posted about the MA Audio car stereo amplifier,I did not receive any replies because I probably wasn't descriptive enough. When I first saw the amp I thought it was a home stereo component,I wasn't familiar with MA audio so I began trying to do some research for info on this amp.I am not even sure of the wattage of the amp although it has a 120 amp fuse located on it and also four rca plugs on the back, two of those being line out recepticals.

dougrock,

I was just browsing the forum & seen your post & thought I would try to help.

From the looks of it you have the MA Audio model MA1382HX amplifier. It is a 2-channel amplifier.

These were from 2002 & were the High Current series.

I own the MA2601HX which is one of the other amps in that series & I have the manual which covers your amp too.

Here are the specs as specified in the manual:

MA1382HX:

FEATURES:

High Current non-regulated power supply

Double Sided PCB

Built in cooling fan

12dB active slope crossovers

12dB variable frequency bass boost

Remote bass control

Line Output

Built-In ANL Fuse Holder

Protection status indicator

SPECIFICATIONS:

Bass boost frequency range: 40Hz to 100Hz

Bass Boost: 0 to 12dB

Frequency Response: 1dB from 10Hz to 20KHz

Signal to Noise Ratio: > 100dB

Input Sensitivity: 200mV to 8V

Channel Separation (AT IWD) : > 60dB

Damping Factor (ATIW/50Hz) : > 240

Typical Current Draw at idle: 1.4 AMPS

POWER OUTPUT (MA1382HX):

4 Ohms = 2 x 130 Watts RMS

2 Ohms = 2 x 250 Watts RMS

1 Ohm = 2 x 375 Watts RMS

1/2 Ohm = 2 x 500 Watts RMS

BRIDGED @ 1 Ohm = 1 x 1000 Watts RMS

Recommended Fuse Size: 120 AMPS

Dimensions: 16-7/8" x 12-3/4" x 2-1/2"

Those are the main specifications for your amp according to the manual. If that is a picture of your amp you posted I see you have all of the corner caps, mine is missing two of them unfortunately. I am also missing the top handles for flush mounting, I don't have the bass remote either.

I will include a few pictures of the manual too so you can see what it looks like. (I hope I added the pictures ok)

Glad I could be of help with the manual!

As for running three different 10" woofers; well I probably can't help much there, but maybe someone else can offer some advice on that matter.

I will add my input however:

I suppose if all three of them are different, then setting them up in three separate enclosures or one enclosure with individual chambers would be the best, if you are set on running all three. If you tried running them in a common chamber (where they share the internal air-space), they may not interact well together, it would probably work, but maybe not as well. I don't recommend a common chamber for mixed matched woofers.

You will have to make sure your final impedance of all three speakers is ok for the amp, I am thinking running it bridged (mono) would be best for your three subs, just have to make sure the impedance is ok for your amp. The MA AUDIO amp is a high current model & can supposedly handle a 1-Ohm load bridged, so I don't think that should be a problem, but it depends on your woofers voice coil configurations on what your final loads can be.

That is my 2 cents worth & maybe someone else can give you some better ideas!

Take care!
