I'm currently running a JL Audio 500/1 into a pair of JLw3v2 12's in correct sealed boxes (displacement accounted for). I have not completely tuned the amp as I don't have the proper tools to do this. But I'm wondering if this will even make much difference since 1, I've only got my amp turned up under 1/4 and it's topping out my subs, (deck levels are all at zero). 2, I feel like I'm battling airspace. 1993 Honda Prelude. I'm looking for that deep obnoxious resonance. I get a little, but no volume.
I'd like to trade up for some w7's so I can enjoy my amp at its full potential. Should I get a pair of 10's, or one 12, freeing up a little airspace. I'm open to opinions, even those that would concern a different brand of sub. I'd really like to hear from someone who knows my trunk. I can't find any specs on it. Thank you.

Fine the employers.
I ended up getting a 12w7v3. I plan on upgrading to the 1000/1, but even with the 500/1 it's simply amazing. I've had 3 or 4 different sub configurations including (correct) ported and sealed boxes, different subs, etc., but my ported w7 made any trunk troubles I had nonexistent. For the Prelude's limited space a ported 12w7 is, in my opinion, perfect. I'm not trying to enter IASCA or anything. It's a little underpowered right now, but I can still flex every panel on the car. Absolute crisp, clean clarity. I love it. Now if I can find some inexpensive Focal components to ride up front...
