I am installing an aftermarket stereo in my girlfriend's 2004 Pontiac Grand Am GT with the Monsoon sound system, no OnStar. I bought the GMOS-04 wiring harness adapter, but can't get it figured out. I can't figure out which wire hooks up to the red wire and the amp turn on wire.. help please!

the red wire is an output, it goes to the red wire from the new radio. the blue wire also goes to the blue wire coming from the radio

that is what im talking about. the wiring harness from my new cd player has the red, yellow, and blue with white stripe. the GMOS-04 adapter only has yellow to hook into. The car has the mosoon sound system. Yellow goes to the yellow im assuming. does the adapter already take care of the mosoon amp turn on, or do i have to hook that up somehow? and the red wire. That is a power wire. Do i have to run a new wire from the ignition or what?!

The GMOS-04 has a red wire that goes to the red wire from the new radio. The blue wire from the new radio goes to a blue/white wire in the GMOS-04. This turns on the Monsoon amp. If you don't have an install manual for the module, go to Metra's website and download one.

If your radio has both a blue and a blue/white wire, use the blue/white. If your deck has only a blue wire, use that one.
