1st, yes i am new here. if i am posting in the wrong forum, please direct me to the correct forum and i am sorry for posting in the wrong area.
I have a OLD equipment. I have an Alpine CVA-1000, Alpine ERA-G320, and the Alpine 6disc mp3 CD changer.
All my connections are Ai-Net. Basically the EQ resets back to factory settings when the car is turn off and back on. The CVA-1000 keeps it's settings, but the EQ doesn't.
Here's what happens; after I turn the car back on, i push the power wire on head unit and it for a second (literally i timed it) then powers down. sometimes i have to push the power button 3 times for it to finally power up.
I disconnected the ERA-G320 from Ai-Net connected the cd changer to the CVA-1000, unit plays fine, starts up every time with no problem. So I know this has to be a problem with either wiring or the EQ. When the head unit finally powers up with the EQ attached all the functions on the EQ work perfect, it just want keep the settings when the vehicle is turned off then back on.
What could be the problem?

It has been a while since I have seen a 320, does it have a power and a ground connection? If so, did you connect it to a constant or a switched source?

sorry for the late reply. the 320 has 4 wires, a hot, ground, remote and i believe a power ant. (blue with white line). the hot is attached to a distribution block that receives power all the time. i have tried different grounds and get the same results with the resetting.
i purchased a used 320 "brain" you could call it off of ebay for $50. i'm going to try to use this one and see if it resets, if so, it's my wiring if not, then i have a "bad" 320.
so this is where i am at.

Is the power wire yellow? If so, it needs to be connected to a constant 12 volt source. I am betting that you have it connected to a switched source.

well, the distribution block i am using is connected to the batter using 1/0 awg wire, the block has one 1/0 awg in, and one 16-18 awg out and 4 4 awg out. this is the block where the yellow wire from the 320 is connected. i know it has a constant on, it's coming directly from the battery. all the remote lines work. there is no "in-line" switch.
