I have 2 Orion C12D2 subs 200RMS/400Max per sub in a sealed box with a Boss GT 580 2 channel amp.. I got this setup for $50... I have them wired in a 2 ohm load but when I connect them to the bridged channel it wont play but the subs will still move but wont make a sound even when there is no music playing so I have to hook it up to the right channel pair and I dunno how much power it gets but the subs barely move... It has a bass boost switch like an on and off switch so I cant set it and I dunno why when I set the input sensitivty switch to 100Mw-2v its plays louder than the other setting... And when I have the bass boost switch on it makes noises when no music plays... Can anyone tell me whats wrong and I also blew my front door speaker and its stock ran off a Pioneer Premier 390MP headunit is it a way I can set the door speakers and 6x9's to play highs while the subs driven off the amp play the lows... Can someone help me set this up..?? I will try to take pics....

What is the other choice on the switch?  It is supposed to be louder on the 200MV to 1V scale than on the 2V to 8V setting.

Yeah thats to two options why is that option louder than the other one.. Also how do I set the low pass filter on the subs do you turn the knob to the number on the left or right to alow more low frequencies in or out..??

30Hz     /         120hz and the subsonic filter how does that work and I have a Pioneer head unit that allows me to turn the high pass filter from 50hz/ 63hz/ 80hz/100hz/125hz which one do I select so it will only let my inside speakers play the highs and cut out the lows...??

The low pass filter will allow frequencies that are at or below that frequency to be played.  Set to 30, it allows frequencies 30 and below to get to your speaker.  Set to 120, it allows frequencies 120 Hz and below to get to your speaker.

Subsonic filter is a High Pass filter, it allows frequencies at or above the setting to get to your speaker.  Set to 15Hz, it allows frequencies 15 and above to get to your speaker.  Set to 30Hz, it allows 30 and above to get to your speaker.

The switch by the gain adjustment, when the switch is in the 200Mv to 1Volt setting, this means with the gain all the way up, a 200Mv signal will allow the amp to produce max power.  With the gain all the way down, it will take a full volt to max the amp out.

With the switch in the other position, it will take 2V to 8V to max the amp out.    So if your deck is a 4Volt deck, when the switch is in the 200Mv to 1V position, you are able to provide 4 times the required signal.  With the switch in the proper position and the gain properly adjusted, you can still max your amp out, and you will have actual control of your system.

Ok I understand that termonology.. I got the specs on the amp its puts out like 200 x 2 @ 4ohms but doesnt say anything bout 2 ohm load and when you bridge it I guess you can only put a 4 ohm load on it right..?? So I have 1 channel pushing the 2 subs in a 2 ohm load would that damage the amp..?? I have 1 cord at the positive and the other at 1 negative and when I take those two wires and hook them up to one subs terminals on the box I have another set of speaker wires running from the 1st subs terminals on the box to the second ones to make the 2 ohm load right or can I hook one speaker to each channel..??

you should connect one speaker to each channel.

How much power does it produce into a 4 ohm mono load?  Divide that number by 2 and that is what it does into a 2 ohm stereo load.

On one website it says 500 x 1 @ 4 ohms

That would be 250 X 2 into a 2 ohm stereo load.

So each channel is puttin out 250 rms to each sub..?? I dont think that Boss amps puts that out it seems that the subs hardly move...

Mathematically speaking, a 4 ohm mono load is the same exact load as a 2 ohm stereo load.  So according to that "One web-site" that said 500 X 1 into 4 ohms.  That would be 250 x 2 into a 2 ohm load.
